EnFi

Founded in 2023 by serial entrepreneurs Joshua Summers (CEO), Scott Weller (CTO), and Michelle Hipwood (CFO), EnFi was born from observations of the systemic challenges in the lending industry, highlighted by the banking crisis of that year. The founding team brings experience from previously acquired technology companies, including clypd (acquired by AT&T) and SessionM (acquired by Mastercard). Their mission was to leverage AI to address the talent shortage and capacity constraints faced by commercial lenders. The company raised a $7.5 million seed round in 2024 and followed up with a $15 million Series A in February 2026, bringing its total funding to $22.5 million.

EnFi serves a range of clients, including banks, credit unions, private credit funds, and fintech lenders. The platform's key features include automated financial spreading, credit analysis, covenant monitoring, term sheet generation, and the creation of credit memos. In September 2025, the company launched EnFi Grid, an AI-powered spreadsheet tool that integrates familiar spreadsheet functionality directly into its platform, allowing users to build and run custom financial models with AI assistance. The platform emphasizes security and compliance, holding SOC 2 certification and incorporating features like end-to-end encryption and explainable AI with full decision traceability to meet regulatory standards.
