This robot utilized patented navigation technology to determine an optimal cleaning path and could detect various obstacles.

The firm's mission was to increase the productivity and safety of janitorial and maintenance workers by automating repetitive floor cleaning tasks. This enabled property owners to maintain clean surfaces with less physical exertion from their human workforce. The company was formerly venture-capital-backed and held several patents for its robotic platform technology, with initial filings dating back to 2016. According to market analysis, Discovery Robotics ceased operations around August 2021 and was reportedly acquired by NexusAMR, which planned to release new technology based on the modular robotic platform.
