Calendly
OngoingCalendly continues to sell scheduling across calendars, routing and team workflows alongside Google’s own booking pages.
Calendar integration and business workflows extend the use case beyond booking a slot. Continued operation does not establish that pricing or market share was unaffected.
How to read the outcomes
These are selected cases, not a measure of how often platforms win. Dots describe different parts of a relationship and can overlap. Historical closures and acquisitions are recorded separately from current competition. “Held ground” means the business continued, not that its market share was unchanged. Outcome labels are Dealroom’s editorial interpretation of the linked sources.
- Lost ground
- The independent service lost access, relevance or a substantial part of its original market. This does not imply the platform was the only cause.
- Under pressure
- The platform competes for discovery, customers or pricing. The case describes the specific pressure; a competing launch alone is not proof of damage.
- Held ground
- The company continued operating a differentiated business after platform entry. This is not a claim that its market share or valuation was unaffected.
- Benefited
- The company used the platform as infrastructure, gained distribution or received customers from a platform retreat. The case identifies which benefit occurred.
- Platform withdrew
- The named platform closed or exited the specific competing product. This does not imply it left every related market.
- Acquired
- The named platform acquired the company. An acquisition by a different buyer does not qualify.
- Still open
- The relationship or competitive overlap exists, but the eventual outcome is unresolved. A hollow dot distinguishes it from an observed historical result.
